Jacob & Tasha
Yorkshire
The day started gently — hugs in the hallway, small boys in oversized waistcoats already losing patience with their ties, and a very good dog in a bow tie trying to hide behind a bridesmaid's dress. Tasha arrived on her dad's arm looking entirely unbothered by the drizzle outside.
The ceremony itself was short, warm and a little bit funny. When Jacob and Tasha kissed, the room went up and everyone clapped.
Outside, between the brick walls and the bare March hedges, the whole family lined up for the group shot — somehow getting every child facing the camera at once counts as a minor miracle. Then it was just the two of them for a while: hand in hand across the cobbles, foreheads together, not performing for anyone.
Back inside, fairy lights strung the length of the brick wall for the wedding breakfast — dark green runners, candles, place cards waiting at every seat. The speeches ran the full range: nerves, a few well-aimed jabs, Tasha laughing into her glass more than once.
It finished on a toast — glasses up, kids wriggling underfoot, the room glowing amber. A wet Saturday in March, and nobody in that room seemed to notice the weather at all.
