Mitton Hall

Little Mitton, near Whalley and Clitheroe, Lancashire

A 15th-century riverside manor in the Ribble Valley, near Whalley and Clitheroe.

Mitton Hall is a magnificent 15th-century manor house set in its own grounds in the Ribble Valley, about a mile and a half from Whalley and two and a half miles from Clitheroe. It blends real period character with a riverside setting, and has become one of the most decorated wedding venues in the North West.

A 15th-century manor with character

At the heart of Mitton Hall is a breathtaking oak-panelled Great Hall, full of the warmth and history you would hope for in a manor of this age. It is a genuinely atmospheric room for a ceremony or a wedding breakfast, and it gives the whole day a sense of occasion.

Light, glass and a riverside terrace

A bright conservatory provides a spectacular, naturally lit setting for ceremonies and celebrations, opening onto an idyllic riverfront terrace. The Party Room is bathed in daylight with riverside views, and transforms into a lively party space once the evening arrives.

Space, stay and service

The venue is licensed for civil ceremonies and accommodates up to around 220 guests across its rooms, with 18 individually designed bedrooms for those staying over. An in-house team of chefs handles the wedding breakfast and evening food, cooking with fresh local produce.

Recognised by the industry

Mitton Hall has been recognised at The Wedding Industry Awards, named North West Best Hotel Wedding Venue 2024 and Highly Commended the following year — a reflection of its consistency as a country-house wedding venue in the Ribble Valley.
